What:
Razor Thoughts aims to create awareness about self-injury through the words of people who have or continue to, self-injure.
Who:
Anyone can contribute to this blog. Do you self-injure? Have you self-injured? Do you have a loved one who self-injures? Are you part of an organization that helps people who self injure? We need all your voices.
How:
You can contribute to any of the following sections:
- Poetry: Tell us about your experience through poems.
- Art: Tell us about your experience through art.
- Journal: Tell us about your experience through old or new journal entries or articles.
- An expert opinion: Are you a professional working with an organization related to self-injury? Share your expertise.
- People you may know: Writers, musicians, actors, designers, athletes. People you may known and admire describe their experience, and how they overcame the pain.
Just send your entry to razorthoughts@gmail.com . For more info, visit contribute.
When:
Whenever you feel ready.
However, that being said, it is my hope to eventually put together a downloadable e-book with all these entries. The idea is to have a document that anyone (doctor, parent, self-injurer) can refer to.
Why:
You can read my reasons for creating this blog here.
I believe YOU should contribute, because this is a way in which other people can know how you feel. It is a step towards understanding yourself, and allowing others to understand you. It is my hope that through this blog self-injury will be demystified, self-injurers will realize they are not alone, and families will get a better insight into their loved ones’ hearts.
